Blizzard Real ID system sparks polemic

Blizzard prides one of the largest and most betrothed user publics of any developer in the world. The advantages of such a following are clear, but the downside becomes equally stark when the corporation runs afoul of its user base.

The corporation yesterday launched its new Real ID system, a service that permits friends to effortlessly adhere each other’s actions in Blizzard games like World of Warcraft.
